Executive BoardIn September of 2012, I had the honor of becoming a founding member of my sorority. I was soon elected to the executive board, as the Membership Vice President. Working alongside my fellow board members for over a year and a half was one of the most life-changing aspects of my college career. My position showed me how to manage my time and my chapter. I learned a great deal about others and even more about myself. This experience developed me into the leader I am today. ![]() | Chapter of the YearOn February 19, 2014, Gamma Phi Beta was named Chapter of the Year at the University of Connecticut. It was an honor attending the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life's Arete Awards Ceremony. It was incredibly rewarding to see this chapter's hard work being recognized. We also received an award for new member excellence that I had the honor of accepting. Starting and maintaing an organization of over 120 members is no easy feat; the women of Gamma Phi Beta at UConn did this, exceeding all of my expectations. February 19th was a day of smiles, laughter, and certainly tears of joy! I will be forever grateful for the experience I've had in Gamma Phi Beta at the University of Connecticut. |

This Thanksgiving I had the pleasure of volunteering at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Hartford, CT. This church does a wonderful job of providing meals to the people of their community who are unable to cook for themselves on Thanksgiving. We packaged and delivered over 120 meals!
After the meals were delivered, food was served on site as well. This was open to anyone in the community who was looking for a meal on Thanksgiving. Volunteers even decorated the room with Thanksgiving decor! Preparing, serving, organizing and delivering these meals was no easy task, but it is something I definitely plan on doing again. I wouldn't have wanted to spend this Thanksgiving any other way! |
