Gamma Phi Beta
I am a founding member of my chapter. I was elected to serve as the first Membership Vice President on the executive board. I manage a large department, as well a budget. I have dedicated myself to my position, which requires executing recruitment of new members. I plan workshops instructing over 100 women.
Gamma Phi Beta believes in the importance of Building Strong Girls. We have partnered with organizations such as Girls on the Run, Camp Fire and Girl Guides of Canada in order to support out philanthropic mission. At UConn, we will be holding our very first "Crescent Classic" in the fall to benefit our philanthropy. I was involved in selling carnations to benefit our philanthropy and hosting a supply drive for Hurricane Sandy Relief in the Spring of 2013. |
Regional Leadership Conference
|
I was able to attend Gamma Phi Beta's Regional Leadership Conference in March of 2013. I was involved in a three day long conference that helped me further develop my leadership skills through workshops, activities, goal setting and much more. I was also able to meet and collaborate with women from all over the East Coast. This was an amazing opportunity to strengthen our Executive Board, make new connections and enhance leadership skills. |
HuskyTHON
HuskyTHON is a University wide fundraising event at UConn. We raise money for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center as well as the Children's Miracle network. This is a year long effort, all leading up to an 18 hour dance marathon. Gamma Phi Beta's team danced for our two "miracle children:" Chelsea and Olivia. I was able to raise over $600 dollars for this amazing cause. The University of Connecticut was able to raise over $340,000. I have raised over $1,000 for this amazing cause! |
